Skill building groups offer a unique opportunity for children to come together in a supportive environment, fostering growth and understanding while still having fun. They provide a safe space to share experiences, learn from one another, and develop coping strategies in a collaborative setting.
This 7 week group teaches self-regulation skills using Zones of Regulation. Children will practice applying regulation skills through activities and games with peers.
This interactive and engaging social skills group is designed for students in 1st-5th grade, focusing on essential skills such as turn-taking, compromising, handling frustrations, and expressing feelings. Through fun, cooperative games, children will practice these skills in a supportive, structured environment. The group emphasizes positive communication, teamwork, and emotional awareness, helping children develop confidence in navigating social situations.
Activities include board games, group challenges, role-playing, and interactive games that encourage students to take turns, manage disappointments, and express their emotions in healthy ways. Throughout the sessions, children will receive guidance on identifying and managing frustration, learning to use words to express their feelings, and respecting others’ feelings and boundaries.
This 8 week girls group will help girls build self- esteem and confidence. Girls will learn friendship making skills and recognizing and responding to relational aggression. Positive psychology and social problem solving will be used throughout the group.
