Welcome to Children's Psychological Services, LLC! My name is Dr. Valerie Roth and I am excited to share knowledge I have learned from my schooling and professional experiences. Every month I will blog on a new topic and some of the topics I have in mind are the following: homework tips, test-taking strategies, peer relations in the school setting, Autism Spectrum Disorder, what is ADHD?, What is Dyslexia?, crisis information for loved ones, and more. If there is a specific topic you would like me to blog about, please let me know and I would be happy to include your topic one month.

My interests are psychological evaluation and counseling for school-aged children. I utilize an office in Lakewood Ranch, Florida but am willing to travel within Manatee, Sarasota, Hillsborough, Pinellas, and surrounding counties. I do have a Spanish translator who can assist with communication needs with parents and guardians, if needed.

When looking for a private school psychologist, it is important to make sure they are using the most up-to-date assessments. Within the past year or so, many psychological assessments have been updated and it is best practice to not use these instruments after a certain period of time. I obtain my information from many of the pages I have on the Resources Page on our website.
